The TBR was established by the Wisconsin Chapter to encourage public employees to attend the University of Wisconsin‘s Public Works Supervisory Academy due to the Chapter’s involvement in establishing the program. The courses offered are provided excellent instruction and generally less expensive than similar seminars and courses offered through other facilities. The Chapter expanded the program to also include courses and seminars related to civil engineering, public works operations and maintenance, and public works management/ administration not associated with a degreed program, provided advanced approval is received.
Reimbursement is available to both members (50%) and non-members (25%) of APWA working for a municipality. In 2006, the Chapter increased the individual course amount up to $600 is eligible for reimbursement.
