Senior Mechanic- City of Green Bay, WI
The Public Works Department is seeking a second shift Sr. Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair of all types of vehicles and off-road equipment. The successful candidate should have considerable knowledge of standard practices, equipment, tools, hazards and safety precautions of the trade and possess computer and technical skills including diagnostic equipment and engine/transmission programs. Minimum requirements include Associate degree or equivalent in Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanics, 2 years experience as a Master Technician in medium-heavy duty truck and off-road equipment, previous experience in maintenance and repair of public works equipment and commercial welding/fabrication experience high desirable, valid driver’s license, CDL required or the ability to obtain, ASE certification preferred. The City supplies all necessary tools. Residency within the Green Bay corporate City limits will be required within one year of hire.
