Social Media Task Force

President Mike Dailey (2011) formed a social media task force to form recommendations for use of social media or networking by the Chapter. The task force was formed in early 2011 from the 2009 and 2010 emerging leaders and began working together in February, 2011. The task force produced and presented a report to the Wisconsin Chapter at the 2011 Fall Conference in Wausau, WI that resulted in formation of a LinkedIn group page for the Chapter and a Twitter account. Paul Klajbor (City of Milwaukee) is responsible for managing the LinkedIn group page. Matt Bednarski (SEH) is responsible for managing the Twitter account.

During the 2011 spring conference in Racine, two social media presentations were given to the conference attendees.  The social media task force took the opportunity to collect information from the presentation attendees on their social media background and current use.  The group will be compiling the data and providing an online survey to those who would like to participate in the survey but were unable to attend the conference.

The Social Media Task Force held a teleconference and discussed providing a survey to chapter members via email and paper copies at the spring conference.  Members should look to fill this survey out to help the social media group get a background on the members existing usage.  The group also talked about doing a presentation at the spring conference business lunch to let the members know what the group is working on.  The group welcomed Dana Kutz, Marketing Coordinator, of Yaggy Colby on the conference call and look forward to drawing from her research and experience with social media.
