Leadership and Management
The Leadership and Management Committee Chair is Michael Wodalski from the Village of Weston, WI through 2020.

The primary goal of the Leadership and Management Committee is to provide direction and motivation to the membership to foster qualities of effective leadership and management within the profession. The Committee welcomes input from APWA members and community leaders.

EMERGING PUBLIC WORKS LEADERS PROGRAM

One of the key initiatives that the Leadership and Management Committee is focused on is fostering interest in the Emerging Public Works Leaders Program (EPWLP) at both the Chapter and National APWA levels. The purpose of this program is to foster the growth of new leaders within the organization. Since inception in the Wisconsin Chapter, the program has been very successful in strengthening our leadership team. 

The Wisconsin Chapter Emerging Public Works Leaders program accepts applications in May of each year. Please see links below for details about the WI Chapter Emerging Leaders Program.

2020 EMERGING LEADERS CLASS

Aimee Irwin, Assistant to the Public Works Director for the Village of McFarland and Robert Wielgos, Civil Engineer for raSmith in Brookfield, WI were selected for the Wisconsin Chapter Emerging Leaders program.

Both plan to attend and participate in the 2021 PWX in St. Louis, MO.



2019 EMERGING LEADERS CLASS

During 2019, Jojo O’Brien, Stormwater Engineer for the City of Madison, and Genevieve Stollenwerk, Civil Engineer for raSmith, were selected by the Chapter to participate in the Emerging Leaders program. They both attended the 2019 PWX in Seattle, WA and have described their experiences here:”

2018 EMERGING LEADERS CLASS

During 2018, Joseph Komorowski, Civil Engineer for Graef-USA and Zach Navin, Public Works Management Analyst/Safety Coordinator for the City of Wauwatosa, were selected by the Chapter to participate in the Emerging Leaders program. During 2017 Isaac Dolan, Project Engineer for AECOM and Kamron Nielson, Operations Superintendent for the City of Janesville were selected by the Chapter to participate in the Emerging Leaders Program. They both attended the 2017 PWX in Orlando, FL and have described their experiences here:
