APWA WI 2022 Fall Conference - Platteville

Description :

The APWA Wisconsin Chapter will hold the 2022 fall conference for the first time ever in Platteville, WI from Wednesday November 2 through Friday November 4. It will be hosted on the UW-Platteville campus, giving the Chapter an amazing opportunity to connect with students and faculty throughout the conference along with bringing some members back to where it all began. Conference event locations and educational sessions will highlight the City and UW-P alike.

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW: Wednesday starts with a friendly golf outing and a technical tour highlighting the new UW-P Sesquicentennial Hall, followed by a Get Acquainted Party featuring local BBQ and a YP Committee gathering (with pizza) at the legendary Steve’s Pizza Palace.

Thursday and Friday will be dedicated to the Chapter’s mission of providing informative, relevant and timely public works educational topics while earning continuing education credits. Of note for Thursday is that field trips are included in the schedule… that’s right, field trips! These 2-hour sessions will feature (tentative) topics on historical preservation, facility maintenance and UW-P’s DOT highway lab. Also expect involvement from UWP faculty and students throughout the day.

Another twist! The Thursday night scholarship banquet will feature keynote speaker Steve Bench. Steve will present “Attracting Tomorrow’s Talent with Today’s Leaders” to conference attendees, faculty and students at the banquet and will return Friday morning to present a general session titled “Next Generation Perspectives: Gen Z Survival Guide.”
