The 2021 APWA Wisconsin Chapter Fall Conference will be held November 3 - 5, 2021 at the Four Points by Sheraton Milwaukee North Shore. The conference will be hosted by the North Shore Communities of Brown Deer, Fox Point, Glendale, River Hills, Shorewood and Whitefish Bay. 

CONFERENCE PROGRAM: The fall conference will begin Wednesday with a golf outing at Brown Deer Park Golf Course (weather permitting), a morning open house and demo by Wisconsin Salt Wise and afternoon tours of TAPCO and Badger Meter's facilities in Brown Deer all followed by an evening Get Acquainted Party at the Bavarian Bierhaus in Glendale. Thursday's agenda includes a mix of great general and technical breakout sessions, a Chapter membership/ business meeting, committee meetings and our annual scholarship awards banquet, all topped off with free bowling! Friday's agenda includes conference sessions and concludes with lunch and door prizes. As always, you'll be able to select from several topics and sessions to keep your continuing education efforts up to date!

Group Rate for APWA Fall Conference

If you choose to call the hotel to make the reservation, be sure to mention the APWA (American Public Works Association) fall conference to request the conference room rate. 

GOLF OUTING: As with all fall conferences in Wisconsin, our golf outing is contingent on weather conditions. This year's golf outing will be held at the Brown Deer Park Golf Course, located at 7625 N. Range Line Rd., Milwaukee, WI 53209. Shotgun start at 10:00 AM. The scramble format presents the perfect opportunity to take on this course! You will get to play 18 holes with a cart, as well as a box lunch for the low cost of $75. Registration is due by November 2. (The golf outing is NOT included in the full conference registration; purchase your golf ticket through the Whova app.)

MORNING TOUR: Wisconsin Salt Wise and the Village of Brown Deer Public Works Department are offering an open house tour and demo at the Village's public works facilities located at 8950 N Arbon Dr, Brown Deer, WI 53223. There is no charge for the tour, but registration (HERE) with Wisconsin Salt Wise is required. 

  • WI Salt Wise is a coalition of organizations from across Wisconsin working together to reduce salt pollution in our lakes, streams and drinking water. Their primary goals are to: educate residents, leaders and winter maintenance professionals on salt pollution and solutions, provide training and promote best practices to reduce salt pollution and recognize contractors committed to using the right amount of salt for conditions.

AFTERNOON TOURS: Two technical tours are offered on Wednesday afternoon. All participants must take the tour bus from the conference hotel, which loads from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM and will proceed to TAPCO's Brown Deer facility for a 1 PM tour followed by a Badger Meter facility tour at 2 PM. (We will confirm the PDH value of these tours when available; the free technical tours are included in all full registration tickets.)

GET ACQUAINTED PARTY:  Meet your old friends and meet new ones at the Wednesday evening Get Acquainted Party! This year's event starts at 6 PM at the Bavarian Bierhaus, 700 W Lexington Blvd, Glendale, WI 53217. Enjoy the beautiful setting, great food and a good time with your public works friends and colleagues! A shuttle bus will leave from the hotel main entrance at 5:30 PM, and will leave the Bavarian Bierhaus at 9:30 PM to return to the hotel. (The Get Acquainted Party IS included in the full conference registration; a la carte tickets are also available!)

  • Willkommen Freunde und Nachbarn! For nearly four generations, The Bavarian Inn was proud to host weddings, blood drives, bake sales, and community events as diverse as the remarkable patchwork of nationalities that give Milwaukee its unique charm. Our roots are in the 1920’s when the German Clubs of Milwaukee leased land on n Port Washington Road. The park, soccer fields, and clubhouse were finally complete in 1967. Since then, the site has been host to Milwaukee’s biggest – by far – and most authentic Oktoberfest and is the home of Milwaukee’s world-renowned Bavarian Soccer Club.

SCHOLARSHIP BANQUET: The Thursday evening Scholarship Banquet will recognize students who are being awarded APWA WI Chapter scholarships to support their education in support of a career in public works. The banquet (buffet format) will be held at the Village Bowl, N86W18330 Main St, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051 and followed by free bowling! A shuttle bus will be leave from the hotel main entrance at 5 PM, and will leave the Village Bowl at 10 PM to return to the hotel. (The banquet and bowling are included in all full registration tickets; a la carte tickets are also available.)

MOBILE CONFERENCE APP: We are excited to again be using the Whova mobile app for this conference based on its great success at our past conferences. WISCONSIN CHAPTER CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations must be made by the late registration date listed on the registration form (10/20/2021). A full refund will be made for any refund request received by the close of that day, less a twenty-five dollar ($25) administrative fee. No refunds are given after the late registration date has passed. Special circumstances will be decided on a case by case basis, first by the host committee and then approved by the Executive Committee. The host committee must receive all special circumstance requests within seven (7) days after the start of the event (11/12/2021). All requests received after this date will be denied. Individuals requesting a refund are required to submit their requests to the host committee and copy the treasurer and must include their mailing address and to whom the check should be written. All approved refund requests will be issued after completion of the conference/event.
