Session Overview

With strict tax levy limits and declining state aid, Wisconsin communities find themselves between a rock and a hard place when it comes to funding streets projects. Fortunately, municipalities have a new option to recover the cost of transportation system projects: transportation utilities. This Lunch and Learn will explore the ins and outs of this new utility and help attendees decide if it’s the right fit for their community.

Assess the pros and cons of creating a transportation utility in your municipality, including legal concerns and impacts to current state funding
Decide if a transportation utility is the right fit for your community

Speaker

Ed joined Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. (R/M) in 2017 as a financial analyst. He earned his MBA in finance and investment banking from the Wisconsin School of Business. Before joining R/M, Ed worked in private-sector finance, analyzing capital investments, forecasting expenses and revenue, and crafting department budgets. At R/M, he creates financial solutions for all clients, from municipalities to corporate businesses.
