The APWA Wisconsin Chapter Young Professional Committee is hosting a "Learn to Curl" event on Friday, January 18th. The event is open to the first 48 registrants to play. Spectators are welcome.
Schedule of Events:
Important Information from the Curling Club:
Each person should bring an extra, clean pair of gym shoes or something similar, which we clean before you go on the ice. Flat bottom sneakers work best, leather bottom shoes will not work. We don't allow street shoes on the ice since they bring a surprisingly large amount of dirt and debris that will damage the curling surface. Other than that, we suggest you wear loose fitting and warm clothing. The ice house stays at roughly 40 degrees and so long sleeves for sure, light jackets, and pants that are easy to move in are best. We supply the brooms and the shoe sliders that fit over one shoe used for sliding on the ice when delivering a stone.
Also if players want to wear a helmet, that is welcomed. The ice is slippery and beginners tend to fall!
Note: This event is open to all ages including a Young Professionals Player registration for those aged 40 years and younger and an Open Player registration for those over 40 years of age. There is also an event sponsorship opportunity for those wishing to sponsor this event.
